Boosting Immunity

Addressing this major concern in today’s post. With Covid-19 at its peak it’s not surprising that all us mothers want to be extra conscious to build our immunity from within.

The important thing to know is that there is no miraculous drink, ingredient, or vegetable that will make us pump up like Popeye and fight off viruses! But yes, if we consciously maintain a healthy and active lifestyle including fruit and vegetables in our diet, we can equip our bodies to become stronger and better at fighting viruses.

. ✅ BALANCED DIET
A Balanced diet means that you eat a variety of food in the right proportions - no food group is removed entirely from your diet (unless medically advised). Diets that remove all carbs, or essential fats etc from your diet make the body more succeptible to catching viruses.
. ✅ SLEEP
Remember early to bed early to rise makes a person healthy and wise? That’s true! Just getting adequate sleep is not enough - NIGHT TIME SLEEP is essential.
. ✅ EXERCISE
Even if it just means a walk or a game of badminton.. it’s important to get moving more.
. ✅ IMMUNITY BOOSTING INGREDIENTS
A lot of the staples in our diets like ginger, garlic, onions and turmeric are packed full of immune-boosting nutrients like selenium, sulfur compounds, zinc, and vitamin C.
. ✅ VITAMIN C: Mangoes, Guavas, pepper, oranges, broccoli are all good sources and way better than popping a Vitamin C supplement !
. ✅ PROBIOTICS
#Probiotics are gut friendly bacteria present in Yogurt, pickles and other sources. They make your gut strong and help give your #immunesystem a boost. Some probiotics can also increase the production of natural antibodies in the body!
